Our Story
We four met while working for a newly founded university press, which we built together from scratch, developing the skills to take a book from a concept in the writer's head to a published work in the reader's hands. Now we're bringing that expertise to you.
We all have a deep love for the written word, whether we're reading fantasy, science fiction, academic essays, or poetry. All four of us are also writers in these and other genres, so we have an intimate knowledge of the author's pain and frustration in the publishing process—but also the joys and celebratory moments, which we want to share with more writers.
When our paths diverged from that press, we decided to use our combined knowledge to continue helping authors share their stories and their academic work with the public. Thus, Wyrdhoard was hatched!
About Wyrdhoard
We are freelancers who are eager to assist you with any stage of your writing project. Together, we have experience in writing, editing, proofreading, translating, marketing, publishing, and more.
Wherever your project is on its adventure from idea to publication, we would like to help you professionalize your work and continue maturing your skills. Perhaps you need a beta reader for a draft of a novel or a developmental editor for an academic book project. Maybe you are almost ready to submit an article to a journal but would like someone to help wrangle your citations into house style. It might be that you want to hone your abilities in formal poetry or conference-paper presentations; the time may have come to streamline your syntax and up your grammar game. Perhaps you have self-published a fantasy series and need aesthetic advice on redesigning your website or crafting a social media strategy. Maybe you need a proofreader for your commentary on a favorite literary work, then a Virgilian guide through the dark forest of distribution.
The consultants at Wyrdhoard can provide all of this and more!
